Benton Lutz is a whimsical outsider artist. He writes about everyday life and all its depths, and he paints images of what moves him. He believes that the artistic process is time well spent on being happy, and he hopes his colorful results make other people happy too. In his life he has been a consultant, a poet, a football player, a therapist, and a writer. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries and can be found in private collections in the Lowcountry and beyond. He is a therapist for adults and children, a member of the National Association of Play Therapy, and his degrees include Education Specialist (post masters) from The College of William and Mary and a Masters of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary. He has lived in the shade of the many splendid trees of Beaufort, South Carolina since 1995.
