Ronald graduated from the U. of Mich. with a major in math. He married Phyllis Porter and they have two sons, two daughters-in-law, three grandsons and one granddaughter. Ron became one of three men who originally computerized Amway Corporation in Ada, Michigan. After working there eleven years, he felt God’s call to do something more with his life. The need for a Business Manager, for two years, in Liberia, West Africa with Baptist Mid-Missions presented itself. Ron and his family felt like this was the right thing for them. Ron quit his job, sold the house, stored their household goods, and headed across the ocean to Africa. After two years they returned home to Michigan, and Ron went back to work for Amway for two more years. But he felt something was lacking in his life. It was then that friends of the family told him of the need at South American Mission in Lake Worth, Florida for a Finance Director. The mission wanted someone with a current passport, experience living in a foreign culture, and someone to computerize the mission. Ron was their man, and he worked there for twenty-four years. During early retirement, Ron was once again contacted by a mission agency, World Mission Centre out of South Africa. The need was for financial consulting to run a 501(c)(3) organization in the U.S. Once again his past experience proved invaluable to the organization.
