J. Cabot is a young engineer and author. He was born intersex, but didn’t receive treatment until he reached adulthood. He approaches the world with an insatiable curiosity and has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and exploration. He tackles every puzzle before him with thorough research and a scientific mindset. In college, he sought out an answer to the question of whether God exists, and the Holy Spirit witnessed to him that God does indeed exist, and that God had been present in his life from the beginning. After bouncing between churches in a search to find the right one, he became an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He considers the medical challenges he has gone through in his life to be gifts from God which have served to make him stronger. He also considers his responsibilities as a member of the men’s group in his church to have helped him develop his role as a man in society and serve the Lord to his fullest capacity. His life is dedicated to serving God, his family, and America. C. Barton is a wife, mother, church leader, former child care worker, and recovering alcoholic. She has dedicated her life to the service of others, and has an unconditionally loving spirit. As the president of the women’s group of her church and as a sponsor to multiple women in Alcoholics Anonymous, she has guided many to the principles of Truth. She was raised Catholic, but joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as an adult. There she met her loving husband, and learned about unconditional love. She considers the Church to be a unifying factor in her life, which has brought together the principles of life that she had learned the hard way with the lessons of the Gospel found in Scripture. She adores her granddaughter and enjoys the company of a multitude of missionaries and young men and women. The Bartons’ house is always filled with young adults and youth, who are drawn to the couple’s ministry to them and to the Lord’s Spirit that dwells in their home. One of the young recipients of her ministry is J. Cabot, who confided in her on the nature of his gender identity, and found an ally in her. She wishes to help others like Cabot, who may suffer in silence because of fear of acceptance.
