Cheryl Locke, Ace Detective

Cheryl Locke is happily asexual, but instead of developing the committed relationship she'd dreamed of, she and her best friend are drifting apart. Compelled by her own loyalty, she agrees to do a favor for Jane: track down Jane's older, gentlemanly boyfriend, and find out why he's been avoiding her. A simple enough task on the surface--but relationships are never as straightforward as detective work.
