Gia Scott has camped her entire life, and has tried many styles of camping, including minimalism as well as excessive gear. She has spent a great deal of time camping with children, as well as with multi-family camp outs. Gia has also served as camp cook and prepared thousands of meals, both delicious and what was deemed as failed experiments. Much of her camping has also included lessons on foraging and survival tactics, as well as learning about native flora in a variety of locations and climates. Over the years, she has accompanied many novices into the more natural world, sometimes in campgrounds and sometimes in remote locations. So far, everyone who has ever ventured into the wilds with her has returned home, none the worse for wear. She has also gathered rave reviews from anyone fortunate enough to have joined a camp out when Gia has been the camp cook. Today, Gia is a grandmother and lives in Mississippi in a funny little house surrounded by gnarly old live oak trees. There, she writes from her desk or the kitchen table.
