Historical fiction writer, Suellen Ocean, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sonoma State University. The former radio personality has a ＂knack for storytelling and for making characters come alive.＂ Although the stories are rather sexy and string romances together, she bases her novels on people who have suffered injustices. Suellen also has a non-fiction series, ’Secret Genealogy.’ ＂I have accumulated years worth of research for my historical novels, so I created the genealogical series to work as a companion to the novels. Since the novels are about people hiding their ethnic roots, I thought a reference book providing more details, would benefit the readers.＂
