Emma Brookefield’s goal in life is to get her hands onto the rare and unusual. Willow’s Lily is so rare, none other has ever been seen. Its blood red petals, they say, are to die for. As a genetic botanist, her life’s dream is to divide the plant, cell by cell. But, she must first locate Dr. Mitchell Kallio, and he’s not an easy man to find. Encountering the reclusive botanist, Mitch isn’t all that interested in handing over the lily to a woman he more than once told not to search him out. Flat out refusing her request, he sends Emma home, empty-handed; worse, as damaged goods.She should have known coming to him was a mistake.The lily is evil and has killed many over the years. If Emma had touched it...Mitch can’t think about that now. Yet, he isn’t aware of Emma’s past lives, or that there is a demon child inside of her, who is protecting her from harm. To save himself, he must first save Emma. Hard to do when he can’t find her, is now dying from the destructive blood red petals, and hadn’t listened to his own advice. Had he not taken her virginity without remorse, he probably wouldn’t be at death’s door. The innocence of Emma now destroyed, he’s the reason for it.Yet, she is the only person who can kill the lily - and the one person Mitch will have to sacrifice, perhaps losing his heart along the way, just to save himself from the Dragon’s Tongue.
