Richard C. Shumaker is an infinitely-creative innovator from Sorrento, Florida. Ever since he was a child, he had a keen eye for all things pertaining to creativity. What he discovered about himself was never motivated by material gain and he went on to achieve various goals that have made a notable mark in the lives of the people he corresponded with. As a homebuilder, Richard’s innovative abilities proved entirely useful. He created a small electric shovel to spread gravel and designed and even built metal construction devices to help make home-building more efficient. All while founding an electric paint roller, an electric wheelbarrow, and a portable bike that conveniently could fit into a small suitcase. For six entire decades, his inquisitive mind has never ceased to marvel at seeing what others do not. During the past two decades, he has devoted his effort to mathematical phenomenon. For example, in the early 80s, when interest rates were sky-high, Richard cleverly found a way to increase the rates on bonds, from 14% to a whopping 21%-surprisingly never having bought a single bond or stock himself. His excitement led him to share his breakthrough to a friend who worked as a securities broker at a major Pittsburgh firm. Unfortunately, this friend failed to grasp its very significant meaning and even when he went into great detail in front of the entire office, people were still left in a state of bewilderment. Needless to say, Richard left the brokerage disappointed with their lack of understanding. However, the disappointment was short-lived and something entirely different and more threatening took its place... In a matter of days, he received several phone calls from New York lawyers. Their message was loud and clear: He had apparently stumbled upon something he should not have and if he were to continue, his life would be made miserable. Maybe what he really discovered was the number one reason why Wall Street is awash in wealth. Apart from passionately creating and coming up with a wide array of unique ideas, family is of central focus to Richard. He and his lovely wife, Lillian, have seven beautiful children and over twenty grandchildren. For many years, they have resided in the very home that has been in his family since 1890-coincidentally, right around the time when it was first built. Currently, they are both retired and dwell in the ever-sunny Florida.
