John Woolslair Sheppard is the author of eight books and is a third-generation Lee County, Florida, native.

Inspired by his father’s reenlistment in the army at the age of forty-five in response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Sheppard also enlisted in the army soon after. It was there that he gained a respect and admiration for all the individuals serving in the armed forces.
