Snowflake Symphony

A love of words and a concept carried in the mind for a number of years, plus an interest in music, poetry and quantum physics, inspired this book. There are parallel stories running, both actual and in the mind; those of Spindel and Segment, Maggie and Sentinel. Spindel is the alter persona of Sentinel, whose mind splits and later fuses. These stories and the emotion within, reflect, in word form, the composition of a symphony intended to culminate in a perfect moment. My thanks to Bette Hall a reader who described it in these words; 'You gave me a piece of music. I heard it.'

Writing, drawing, imagination; exciting tools that have led me in different directions. My writing includes poetry and drama and has led, eventually, to my writing the ’Violet Jelly Trilogy’ - books for children aged 8-10. Drawing and painting has realised the designing of posters, costumes, murals, cards and I have used various mediums to produce these - pencil, paint, ink and photography. This has culminated in the production of ’Atchoo’ a picture book for children aged 3 to 5 and in illustrated versions of my books the ’Violet Jelly Trilogy’. I still choose to write first in pencil, as I have done from childhood, as I love the feel of pencil on a page. Imagination formed the idea of a symphony in words, which I carried with me for a number of years. My novel ’Snowflake Symphony’ that best fits the genre Literary Fiction has emerged. Myself? I live with my husband in Spain (we play music together) and our cats and our family live nearby. Ann Sharples
