Sam Michael's PI finds herself tied up lying on the rocky shores of Lake Ontario. She knows she was drugged by the same bad guys that she's trying to bring down. She might be doomed unless her FBI partner, Special Agent Mac Bleu, can find her in time. Sam is running out of options: She can't feel her feet or hands and she drifts in and out of consciousness. The water is cold enough to threaten hypothermia. Her troubles began when she first met Mac, whose high voltage chemistry she finds irresistible. They both feel the pull, but their careers seem to block any advances. The director of the FBI, George Perrin, is Mac's boss and under suspicion by the White House's secret agency Eagle.
