Paula's parents emigrated from Poland to the United States in search of a better life. They held onto their cultural values and ways. To Paula the ways were oppressive. While friends threw parties and had fun in many ways, she was forced to live by a set of strict rules tracing back to the old country. Her father determined to keep family traditions alive. In early adulthood, Paula acquired the opportunities she always wanted. She broke free from the ties of her heritage, and began to experiment with new found freedom. Paula began to sample the experiences reserved for everyone else. As she continued to grow and mature, a surprising truth emerged. The novelty of the rebellion wore off. She learned that living free of rules and boundaries wasn't so fulfilling . Feeling a deep connection to family roots, Paula went in search of the love and loyalty of home. It took her on a journey of thousands of miles to finally find her dream.
