Brian G. Michaud is the author of the The Road to Nyn and The Ring of Carnac, the first two books in The Tales of Gaspar series. Brian grew up in the wilds of Westport, MA slaying dragons and rescuing fair maidens...well, at least in his head. In reality, he was a bookworm who did spend much of his time in the woods attempting to discover which tree he could climb the highest. Amazingly, he never fell, although he had numerous other accidents with left him with enough broken bones to rival Evil Knievel. Since 1995, Brian has been teaching elementary general music. He runs a vibrant program with a chorus that has performed the National Anthem numerous times for both the Providence Bruins and the Harlem Globetrotters. Children in his program experience everything from singing and dancing to hand bells and Scottish sword dancing. His writing career began on a bitterly cold February night in 1992. While a sophomore at Berklee College of Music, one of Brian’s favorite haunts was the Boston Public Library at Copley Square. He had just finished reading his latest pile of books and was ready to devour more, but the weather kept him inside. An idea popped into his head, so he grabbed his clarinet class notebook and began to pen a short story about a hapless young squire. By the end of the evening, rather than a short story, he held what looked more like the first chapter of a much longer work. Within months, the story grew to over 200 pages, written in various notebooks. After many years of picking it up and putting it down, Brian finally published The Road to Nyn in November 2013. Although a musician and music teacher by day, reading and writing have been Brian’s passions since childhood. An ardent fan of the classics, fantasy, and mysteries, Brian had been rarely found without a book in his hand. Now, he is rarely found without a notebook or computer nearby to put down his latest ideas. His second book, The Ring of Carnac, is complete, and Brian is currently writing the third manuscript of this five-book series. Brian is actively querying a historical fiction series for young readers. The Gatsby Kids series focuses on three siblings who travel through time and meet famous historical/legendary figures when they were children. Look for the first two books-The Gatsbys and the Outlaw of Sherwood and The Gatsbys and the Queen of the Nile in the near future.
