Michael Williams was born in 1952 and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He learned how to mountaineer and ski at an early age and developed an eye for the natural beauty of the California mountains. When he was 12 years old he started photographing the world around him. By his mid 20s he had traveled to the Himalaya and found a deep love for the people there. He’s been photographing and traveling ever since. He and his wife, Susan Paul-Williams, a potter, began a major art gallery in the Bay Area in 1990. The gallery flourished for 24 years. In 2011 the Williams moved to Oregon where Michael struggles to catch fish in the mighty Rogue River.
