Loretta Crosby--A writer and poet--has served most of her professional career in the social and legal services field while working for county and state governments in the southeastern United States. A native South Carolinian, Crosby grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and holds a Bachelors degree in psychology. She has been an award-winning newspaper journalist, covering health, education, welfare and religious issues in Georgia. She was also a volunteer at the Bahá’í World Center, serving her Faith full time for over four years in Haifa, Israel (1995-1999), before pioneering to Ghana (West Africa) thereafter. She served as an assistant editor of the Bahá’í International News Service bulletin in Haifa, Israel, and as editor of the newsletter of the National Spiritual Assembly of Ghana, while serving there for 15 months.
