Eyes & Ears: The SetUp

Retired Oregon State Police detective Abigail Dalton and ex-Portland Police officer Bridger Flynn join forces in a unique new PI firm called Eyes & Ears. With Abby blind and Bridger deaf, it’s necessary for them to trust their instincts, their heightened remaining senses and each other to counterbalance their disabilities. Now, City of Portland Police Captain Nathan Shearer reaches out to them in desperation. The Bureau is overwhelmed and understaffed, and could use help solving cold cases.As Eyes & Ears is setting up its offices, a frantic call comes in about an 11-year-old case. Gruesome new evidence has surfaced in the death of a high school senior killed just weeks before graduation, evidence that will take the detectives far beyond the halls of academia and deep into sinister and dangerous worlds.

Kate Ayers spent much of her career as a court reporter in the Pacific Northwest, taking up the writing of mysteries in just the last ten years or so. She’s the author of A Murder of Crows and A Walk of Snipes. Kate lives in Oregon with her husband of over three decades and her slightly imbalanced dog.
