A dysfunctional family drama with big themes questioning life and accepting death. The rugged literary icon, Dalton Jones, is a divorced Midwestern novelist living in Northern Michigan's Leelanau Peninsula, on Cathead Bay. Upon receiving news of his terminal illness Dalton is filled with a flood of regret and begins to reexamine his life; lost love, desires, and histories that have enfolded him. Dalton travels from Michigan to New York City with the hope of resolving strained relations with his ex-wife, Lillian, and his emotionally charged and financially dependent son, Dan. A relationship driven story centered on a father and son, with a supporting cast of colorful Midwestern characters.
