內容簡介

This book will forever change your way of thinking and living. It is a fantastic spiritual journey of discovery that help you to love yourself and others. It is intended for anyone trying to learn how to love without conditions. This book talks about letting go, becoming powerless, and learning how to forgive. This book was written for a codependent but can be used by anyone in an unbalanced relationship of love. It is for anyone that is overwhelmed in life by another person’s addiction to anything including an addiction to drugs or alcohol. The book is an easy read, uplifting, motivational book, just over 115 pages. Easy to comprehend for such a difficult subject matter. Addiction is a family disease and addiction gets progressively worst when untreated. For every addict or alcoholic impacted by the disease of addiction there are at least ten family members or loved-ones also impacted. So, when and how do we address the issues of the families and loved-ones affected? The pain, for the family member is valid, detrimental and real, yet, most loved-ones will go untreated. This book uncovers family dynamics and behavior that show how families keep secrets hidden. The book, Understanding Codependency; Take the Journey to Recovery will shine the light on families, drug addiction, codependency, denial, control and matters of the heart. The author helps the family member or loved-one to understand that other people’s decisions and life-long addictions were not created by one person. The family member cannot fix it. So why worry? The author is a codependent and explains in the book her own recovery process. The author delivers this message as an intimate reflection on her own struggles with codependency. The author is candid and gives examples with reflections on God and biblical scriptures. The book has 12-Steps to recovery, with biblical references. This book can be used independently, in support groups or by faith-based counselors. This book takes you on a journey to show how family members handle tough situations. Do you have someone that is addicted to drugs or alcohol? Are you worried all the time about their lifestyle? After reading this book, with the help of God and a new attitude, the journey to healing can begin. The book is the first part of a Redbook series. The WORKBOOK - is a companion book that will help highlights chapters from the BOOK.

作者簡介

Yolonda Young Simmons takes pleasure in teaching, motivating and encouraging people to reach higher ground and achieve the best of everything that they would endeavor to do. As a co-dependent in recovery herself, helping others was second nature, but her denial about codependency was a hindrance to her own personal life unfulfilled. She always put others before herself. Yet, she did not want to accept the title as a "codependent". Her denial was so strong that only God could open her eyes to see the truth. Since the truth wasn’t spoken of in the home, she lived a life of denial and instead she was taught "what goes on in this house stays in this house". Young Simmons believed the sky was blue and any and all drama at home was normal. She grew up with an alcoholic father and a codependent mother. Her family situation was the foundation that started her on a path of self discovery. Young Simmons is a award winning conference speaker, educator and human resources professional. She is also a Certified Clinical Supervisor for Addictions. She is an advocate to increase family support in the area of recovery and addiction. She is married to Dr. Ronald Simmons, cofounder of Free N One Christian Recovery Program. In 2012, Young Simmons launched Free N One Training Institute (FNOTI). The Training Institute equips Counselors to become certified to work with clients. In 2014, with the help of her husband and social media, Young Simmons was honored by the State of California for naming a street located in Compton, California. The street name is "Healthy Way". It is the main entrance leading into the newly remodeled Martin Luther King Hospital and Wellness Center. Today, Young Simmons is working on her own process of recovery as a codependent. She practice her recovery program every day, every hour and every moment when needed. Young Simmons has three children and currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
