Rob Cherville currently lives in South Derbyshire, UK. His love of writing began around the age of 10, when he would write long stories for his classmates at school. When working overseas, he wrote a history of the Island of St Helena for use in the island’s schools. It was here that his interest in maritime history was born. Returning to the UK, he turned his historical research into a novel of eighteenth century warfare and intrigue, which first introduced him to ancestors of James Montrayne. It is the Montrayne family which now figures largely in the Broken Chains trilogy. His varied career includes Primary School Headteacher, Sales and Marketing Director and Church Pastor. All of these elements are reflected in his writing.
