Giorgia Meloni was born in Rome in 1977. At the age of 15, she began her political involvement in the student and youth movement, while working as a babysitter and bartender. At 21, she was elected as a councilor for the Province of Rome. At 29, she became a professional journalist, was elected as a Member of Parliament, and during the 15th legislature, she served as Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies. She holds the record as the youngest minister in the history of the Italian Republic: in 2008, at 31 years old, she took on the role of Minister of Youth. On December 21, 2012, she founded Fratelli d’Italia, of which she is the national president. In 2020, she was elected President of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR Party), one of the most important political families in Europe, which brings together over 40 European and non-European parties. She is the only woman leader of both a European political party and an Italian political party.
