About the Author: Loretta Parker- Brown is a freelance writer and blogger. She has lived all of her life in Washington, D.C. and has been penning creative writing since she could hold a pencil. Loretta attended Trinity College (now Trinity University) in the Nation’s Capital, where she studied Mass Media Communication. Before and during the 20 years that she created and published a co-op newsletter, she authored numerous pieces that appeared in various publications including The Washington Post, The Washington Afro American and The Metro Chronicle. She credits her positive attitude and her spirituality with keeping her uplifted and focused.
