“The only catch is,” Jamie continued, “you can’t plan ahead.” 

Kenna Dawson is the governor's daughter, and she fears that's all she'll ever be. At nineteen, her sole purpose is to behave for the sake of public image, but here's her secret: Kenna is sick of it. However, rebelling carries the risk of igniting her mother's wrath, and nobody wants to see that happen, ever. 

But Kenna's savior arrives unexpectedly in the form of Peter Slate, an unusually good-looking waiter ferrying hors d'oeuvres at one of her parents' parties. Peter and his friend, successful restaurateur Jamie Malcolm, have been looking for the perfect addition to their "hobby," and they see promise in the fiery eyes of the governor's daughter.
