The Couper Vendetta

Matty Cruz has gone through a lot since she decided to move to Couper, Washington, a tree-filled city nestled on the banks of the Columbia River. When she made that decision, she didn't realize that the charming town had one of the highest violent-crime rates in the Pacific Northwest.

In the fifth book of the completed Matty Cruz Adventure series, Matty's friends are worried about her skittish behavior. After all the trauma she's experienced, she's begun to see boogeymen everywhere. So when Matty becomes convinced that Sam Bester's latest mystery trip out of town will lead him into danger, no one takes her seriously. Despite their doubts, she tails him through the forests and towns near Mount Rainier. Of course, it wouldn't be Matty if she didn't stop and rescue someone along the way.

At the end of her journey, she must decide how far she's willing to go to save a man who has lied to her from the start and a troubled teenager who refuses to go home.
