Rosemarie Salentino has faced many adversities in her life. Just when she felt that her past was finally behind her, it suddenly shows up on her doorstep, forcing her to make some of the toughest decisions of her life. As Rosemarie struggles for answers, she pours her passion into her painting and begins taking art classes led by a professor who encourages her talent and introduces her to the chic art world of New York City in the late 70’s.LEARNING TO FLY is a coming of age story that unravels Rosemarie’s secrets, past and present. It is a story of the courage it takes to overcome adversity, to truly love, to forgive, and ultimately to survive. She is a young woman who has embraced her past the best that she can, and this story is her journey to find love and happiness in a world that has not been very kind to her. Rosemarie’s story is not only heart-warming, but suspenseful as well. Each chapter begins with an original poem.

Writing fiction and poetry has been a passion for Michelle for most of her life. She has published two poetry books, ＂The Poetess: Poems of Love, Life and Friendship,＂ and ＂The Poetess: Poems of Inspiration＂ which are available on Amazon. Michelle is a Language Arts Literacy teacher in Sayreville, New Jersey, a job which she truly loves. She is also a wife to a wonderful man, the mother of two amazing boys as well as three furry kids, and she feels blessed to have such a loving family. Michelle is also a devout animal lover and vegetarian. This is her first fiction novel.
