Journey is a native of Brooklyn, New York and a graduate of Virginia Union University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Music / Jazz Studies. She took a break from singing and writing music to obtain a Master of Arts in Education Degree with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. During this time, she would teach English as a Second Language to new citizens of the United States and briefly did substitute teaching for Richmond Public Schools and for the New York City Department of Education. She currently resides in New York City, fulfilling her dreams as an independent writer, as well as volunteering as a Youth Adviser with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Whatever It Takes is Journey’s first book.
