About the Author He was born and raised on the North West coast of the United States in the late 1940’s. Addicted to horror and detective movies and stories, he spent hours absorbing everything that induced a sense of terror and fright in people and relished in the skills of the detectives who solved crimes of mystery and adventure. He was afraid of the dark as a child and this fear of the dark served to heighten his insight into those things that frighten people and his natural sense of curiosity peaked his interest in detective yarns. As a voracious reader, he delighted in finding unique ways of describing the most mundane things. "Words must have a taste or they are useless" is a phrase friends frequently heard him mutter as he read anything from advertisements to pulp fiction. As a young man he traveled extensively and studied how and why people were repelled and frightened and intrigued by detective prowess.
