Geraldine Powell has spent most of her life in the Mountains of Tennessee and southern Virginia. She has an abiding affection for the southern Appalachian Mountains and mystery novels. It is no surprise her first novel melds the two. She now lives with her partner, five cats and a dog on the side of Signal Mountain near Chattanooga. She’s worked in many different business, from waitress and bartender to art gallery owner. She sold encyclopedias in the coal fields while in college and managed construction a company. Now she and her partner operate an orchid nursery. She brings this broad experience and her unusual sense of humor to her first novel, Blue Ridge, Black Heart.
