I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, second daughter to loving parents. Mom had a degree in art with plans to teach that never happened due to moving to New Mexico. Dad was a talented craftsman in wood. My sister is also an artist, as is her 1st son, who is making a living in California. My immediate family has been relocated for 20 plus years to North Carolina. I was encouraged from the time I could hold a pencil to draw, paint, color or whatever I chose. Mom saved a picture I did, when I was 5, of a horse with a saddle. Imagine the prospective of a five year old. The largest thing was the stirrup and legs. She showed me much later and I laughed. It wasn’t half bad for a small child. My favorite medium is pencil or charcoal but I also work in watercolor and oil. My best subjects are of the animal kingdom, real or imaginary, florals and land or seascapes. I do some portraiture. I can work from photos or imagination. I am currently working on a variety of pieces including miniatures. I have a large variety of little frames, compliments of my framing career, so I’d like to fill them. Anything I do can be reproduced in original form or prints of almost any desired size. I have pieces hanging in various businesses and homes in my area and in New Mexico. I do realism; I like things that look like what they are, mostly. I feel that art is music for the eyes and nourishment for the soul. As well as art I do some writing. I have several books available on Amazon and will be adding more. I’ve done three full color books for children with a lesson attached. They are being added to my list of published books as we speak. Look for my other available books at Amazon and Create Space.
