Dr. Andrew J. Smith holds a Ph.D. in archaeology and a post-doctorate D.Sc. in botany and mycology. He earned a M.S. in environmental science and a M.A. in history. In his undergraduate studies he holds a B.S. in earth and life science and a B.A. in integrated social sciences. He has studied German at Berlitz. A writer, lecturer, journalist, professor, archaeologist, naturalist, photographer, artist, and historian, who has lectured for twenty years in these areas throughout the nation. He has appeared on CBS Today, on CSPAN’s DeToqueville in America series, and on local cable television. Dr. Smith also served for many years on New York State’s Twentieth Congressional District’s advisory committees on the environment and science and technology. He is listed in Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and is a member of the American Forestry Association, North American Mycological Society, the American Botanical Association, the Institute of Field Archaeologists, and has been a member of Mensa.
