The author is a special education teacher with a B.A. in Educational Studies, a M.S. in Special Education, and is working on her Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction. She is a horse trainer and instructor. This book is based upon a real Thoroughbred horse named Noble Winston, rescued by the author. The illustrator is an accomplished dressage rider who also has roots of harness racing in her native Finland. She holds a B.S. in Nursing, specializing in Psychiatric/Adolescent Eating Disorders. Her art medium is acrylics, oils, and watercolors. The author and illustrator both believe in the connection of horse and human, particularly with children and children with special needs.
