Escape from Ambergris Caye

Florida serves up more than tropical scenery after a TV reporter goes missing. In this international suspense thriller, author Joan Mauch spins a chilling tale of kidnapping and intrigue. While covering Tampa's Pirate Festival, TV cameraman, Jackson Taylor sees something suspicious: a girl being forced off a balcony by an angry-looking man. He shares what he saw with his attractive on-air reporter, Izzie Campbell. She tells him the kid was probably acting up and her dad was making her mind. Although Izzie says he's overreacting, she checks it out on her own thinking there might be a story in it that could boost her career. When she subsequently fails to show up for work for several days, Jackson expresses concern to his boss who says to forget her; girls like that walk out on jobs all the time. Jackson pursues the matter and is warned to focus on his work-or else lose the dream job he worked so hard to get. Instead Jackson and his free-spirit brother Zac follow leads that quickly get them in over their heads. They end up on an island off the coast of Belize, where they must fight, not only to save Izzie's life-but their own.

Joan Mauch has been a writer all her life, but became a published author three years ago. Her first novel, HALIFAX was published in January, 2013. Since then she’s been published three more times with the release of THE MANGLED SPOON (May, 2014), THE WATERKEEPER’S DAUGHTER (November, 2014) and her most recent release: ESCAPE FROM AMBERGRIS CAYE (February, 2016). A resident of Davenport, Iowa, Joan is an Illinois native having lived in Chicago, Seattle and Portland, Oregon over the course of her life variously working as a teacher, public aid caseworker, head of a nonprofit housing development corporation, real estate sales agent, public relations executive, vice president of PR/marketing for a national association and most recently as a proofreader for a newspaper.
