ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jo Anne Cracknell is a dual Australian/American citizen living in her beloved Queensland’s tropical north in Australia. After a career in television, then in education, teaching and writing the feasibility study for and the history of Australia’s first private university, she turned to writing recipe books, children’s books and then a collection of personal stories from the small rural communities that were hit by Australia’s most severe storm, Cyclone Yasi, in February, 2011. She has a daughter in film and son-in-law in IT in Sydney and another daughter, who’s a commercial pilot in America. Her three husbands were all involved in the Vietnam War. One was drafted, two volunteered and received medals. All three had very different experiences. Look for the true story of events that led to her finding her long lost first love after he was declared dead in Vietnam, following his real covert operations when he reported to President Kennedy before war was declared. It was actually 45 years later that he called out of the blue to announce that he was indeed alive, in relocation, and still loved her. The book is called "Looking Back: a True Love Story." She would love to receive your comments and thoughts about your own experiences related to the Vietnam War as military, observer, or family, friend or loved one left behind.
