Some of the popular themes in kink writing include humiliation and an imbalance of power between two or more characters. I think one of the things that separates this aspect of the kink with more conventional stories of relationships is the fact characters in sissy and/or cuckold situations don’t end up as the hero of the story. They don’t overcome the odds they face to reclaim their own personal power. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say they eventually learn to accept their fate and resign themselves to the fact their roles and responsibilities have been retooled. The Doms in these stories are never the sissy bois themselves. As an author, I find the dialog I most enjoy writing is when one of the characters reacts in anger to something they’ve been enduring. Mostly this comes from the wife who can no longer stand her husband and reclaims her own power by cuckolding him. But I’ve also really enjoyed Ramsey, the main character from Outer Space Sissy Boi and Return of the Outer Space Sissy Boi. He’s been completely stripped of his sense of power and control but he carries a burning resentment of his situation. He’s the only one I know who has the seed of rebellion that could transform him from a weak sissy boi to an actual hero. We’ll see how that goes.

I have no doubt some of the characters feel they deserve whatever unhappiness they’re experiencing when their story ends. But part of this kink’s appeal is the pleasure that can be derived from pain.
