Coventry (UK) born Iza MacLeod is an indie novelist who has written and self published two romantic fiction novels, both of which have been set in foreign countries. The first novel, Buenos Dias Lucy London (published 2014), is partly based on her experiences of learning Spanish and living in Buenos Aires, after she spent around three years in the cultural and vibrant capital of Argentina. The second, Katie Cannes (published 2016), is set on the beautiful, sunny Côte d’Azur, where Iza lived and enjoyed all things French for eighteen months with her husband, alongside teaching English and Spanish. When Iza isn’t writing she’s either working on events, trying to learn another foreign language, or exploring places with her dog. Gathering inspiration for stories never seems to be a problem for Iza, but finding the time to write is. Buenos Días Lucy London was only written after Iza had spent a month in hospital in 2012 and was unable to work for a period of time. ’I became frustrated while living in France, ’ she explains, ’because, despite loving the place, I didn’t have any time to write. When my husband uprooted us to a remote area of Buenos Aires, it might have been the best thing for us, though after my husband not being paid from his job and me being robbed in the street by two armed men on a motorbike, it may not have appeared that way, but it gave me the opportunity to write, and I completed my second novel, Katie Cannes.’ Now residing in England, Iza has recently started writing her third novel, the setting of which is a remote area of Buenos Aires where the tourists never venture, and Mallorca, where she and her husband and their dog that they found on a motorway in Argentina, retreated to for almost a year after their ordeal in Buenos Aires. Iza welcomes questions and interviews via her Facebook page. Topics close to her heart include mindfulness, healthy living, veganism and animals.
