In July of 2000 we sailed our rebuilt 32’ wooden ketch, Strait Aero, from Newport, Oregon up the west coast to the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Then we sailed on up the Inside Passage through British Columbia and into Alaska. We were moored in Juneau by Mid-November. The following June we sailed on to Sitka Alaska. Our newly rebuilt vessel had two electric trolling motors for auxiliary power so we were very dependent on our sails and the tidal currents. This really is an account of Sailing to Alaska. The book contains chart segments of the waters sailed and some photos. There are also many historical references.
