Linda C. Defew lives on a farm in Livingston County, Kentucky, with her husband, Eddie, in the Slocum community. They raise fox terriers, Nubian goats, and a variety of chickens. Struck with crippling rheumatoid arthritis in her 30’s, Linda was forced to leave her job and her love of needlework due to joint damage in her hands. Luckily, her love of writing surfaced after going back to college. With a few adaptions, she was able to type again using one hand. Today, Linda calls the stories she writes her "therapy," something that takes her mind off of her disease and an uncertain future. During the 15 years she spent researching "Murder in Little Heaven," nine of her life stories were published in Chicken Soup for the Soul books including "The Power of Positive," "Touched by an Angel," and "Lemons to Lemonade." She also writes for Christian Woman magazine, Kentucky Explorer, Lost Treasure, plus many on-line websites and a column for her local paper.
