Megan and Josh are on a two-week vacation in Florida from Atlanta. Coming back from a day trip exploring the antique shops in Arcadia, a cow on the road puts them in a ditch on a rural back road. A miscommunication over cell phones has them stranded. They find their way to a farmhouse and an old woman willing to rescue and take them in until help can arrive. Mrs. Sullivan entertains her guest with the story of how she came to live at Honey Tree Farm. She recounts meeting Jesse, the love of her life, and how a jealous bully tried to destroy their life together. What Megan and Josh discover is that love is precious and can indeed last beyond a lifetime.Reviewed By Trudi LoPreto for Readers' Favorite A beautiful love story happened at Honey Tree Farm and Megan and Josh are lucky enough to hear it. They are on vacation, having spent a lovely day enjoying antiques shopping and driving back to Josh's parents' home when they run into trouble and the car ends up in a ditch. Neither Megan nor Josh has a cell phone with them and they decide to walk to the farmhouse they saw a little way back. When the two arrive, they are greeted by a very old and sweet lady named Katy Sullivan, who is more than happy to have them come in until the tow truck driver can come and get the car. Katy is the perfect hostess, giving the pair iced tea and some dinner. Katy offers to tell them the story of how she came to be married to Jesse and live at Honey Tree Farm. I loved being able to share in Katy's story and it was impossible not to like Megan and Josh. Honey Tree Farm: For the Love of the Beekeeper's Daughter is a spellbinding tale that begins when Katy and Jesse were kids forming a tight bond of friendship, then dating in high school, and then moves on to their marriage and children and grandchildren. It also tells of the hard and frightening times they had with the local bully, Brice, the rich kid who thought he could get away with anything. Honey Tree Farm by Brenda M. Spalding is a pure, magical love story that spans the ages. I laughed and I cried and I waited anxiously to find out what happened next. Honey Tree Farm is the best book I have read in a very long time and is a must-read for all who enjoy a well-told romantic tale. Brenda M. Spalding is my new favorite author.
