Maurice Emanuel, the author of the love letters in this book served 20 years in the United States Navy. After retiring from the Navy he had a 10 year career with Lockheed and a 10 year career with Litton Aerospace. In both these post Navy jobs he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer. He and his wife Jeanette raised 4 children and were married for 62 years. He passed at 88 years of age and Jeanette lived to 99 years and 11 months of age.
