Hi I’m Walter Rossie Jr. and today life is amazing! But it wasn’t always like that for me. By my early teens I started getting into trouble in school, then with the law and by 1995 at the age of 25 I was a career criminal and led a violent and careless lifestyle...That year the day after Easter I had a profound spiritual experience and turned my life around completely. I stopped living a life of crime, but it wasn’t until a miraculous chain of events that by 2005, I was no longer a fugitive of Texas. After receiving much specialized training in sales, public speaking, communication, and leadership, I feel that I’m ready now to share my story and take on living a life of impacting the lives of others. Some of my favorite past work was in 2000 when I was President of Visioneer’s Toastmasters Club 8839 in Duarte, California. That year, while still a fugitive from Texas, Club President and C.T.M., I led the club to its first President Select Distinguished Club Award, highest honors from Toastmasters International, putting our club in the top two percent of clubs worldwide. Later, in 2006 I was the Keynote Inspirational Speaker for the Groundhog Mentor Day at City Hall for Duarte High School, along with local business owners, the Mayor of Duarte, in conjunction with America’s Promise. My speech was about Nelson Mandela’s fight against apartheid and main subjects included goal setting, positive role models, and never giving up. That day after my speech I realized that I had unfinished business at an educational leader training program that I had given up on five years prior. I then decided to leave a six figure income job to go back and complete the program I had essentially quit. After completing the program in three quarters of the time allotted, I achieved being an effective introduction leader for a world-class educational organization. Soon after, I returned to Duarte High to deliver several inspirational talks for Mount Olive Diversified School to speak to troubled teens. I was invited back to speak at the "Power Man’s Lunch" held at Mount Olive. On the days I was there I would also deliver several sales workshops for Duarte High’s sales classes. After taking several years break from public speaking to write my book, I recently had an opportunity to speak at Birmingham Charter High School in Van Nuys for the Special Education Department and back again to speak for the Intervention Class. I am currently launching my professional public speaking career.
