Riley Sloan is Nine: Raising a Medically Complex Boy, is a story of the early part of our family’s journey through raising a special boy. Written in narrative poetic form, it is a short read at just over 7,000 words, but full of emotions all too familiar to people who have lived this life. My hope is that it will be a book you could share with friends and loved-ones, to give them insight. If you are the parent of a child like mine, my hope is to support you in a way I wish was available to me. I want you to know that you’re not alone. There are those who see you; who feel compassion for you; who may want to help, but don’t know how. I hope this story gives you confidence, comfort and and hope.
