Wayne A. Walter knows the Long Beach of the 1940s, because he was there. His boyhood of the ’40s and ’50s was spent living in the city. When he refers to a location in his Sid Street novels, it’s for real. Or at least was back then. And he still returns to visit, and renew the feelings of the old city. Today, Wayne and his spouse, Carolynn, make their home in the mountains of central Arizona, surrounded by the Tonto National Forest.
