Nick Campbell first came to Taekwon-Do to learn self-defense. Beginning his journey in Rhee Taekwon-Do (Australia), he is very fortunate to trace his training pedigree through Instructor Russell Knudsen and Instructor Catherine McMaster (nee Galvin) back to Master Vernon Low. After making the transition into the ITF, Instructor Nick earned his blackbelt under Sabum Scott Bower and Grandmaster Kwang Sung Hwang. A Computer Programmer by trade, he brings a technical eye into the dojang. He has spent a large amount of time researching the theory and documentation of ITF Taekwon-Do, developing the Student Handbook used by U-ITF Australia, the Condensed Patterns as well as a number of other resources. This knowledge is brought into the dojang in order to provide a deeper understanding of the execution and usage of techniques. In his continuing pursuit of effective self-defense strategies Instructor Nick earned his blackbelt in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (associated with Ninjitzu) in 2016, bringing with him their concepts of the center line, the use of balance as well as the use of weapons. Instructor Nick is also pursuing an instructor’s certification in Australia’s very own martial art, Kinetic Fighting (KEF), created by Platoon Sergeant Paul Cale and used by the Australian Army as well as US Special Forces.
