Chef Mei Li Trapasso is a native of China. She began her gourmet journey all throughout China working in restaurants, interviewing food experts, filming documentaries with European filmmakers, writing her own recipes, and writing blogs. She is an international cultural exchange project coordinator, president of Global Education Opportunities L.L.C., and the director of an annual arts and English summer camp in China. Mei’s goal is to bring the essence of Chinese culture to the West and share the Western culture with the East. Her belief is "Let food be the medicine." She teaches at OLLI @ Furman University, Wofford College, The Cook’s Station, and offers group and private lessons. She lives in Greenville, South Carolina, U.S.A., with her husband Anthony Trapasso and her younger son Yixiu. Her elder son Peipei Zhao lives in Beijing on the campus of Tsing Hua University - the No.1 university in China.
