Lawrence Olusoji Omotayo was born in Agboyi, Lagos State of Nigeria on January 8, 1952. He attended Anglican School, Agboyi from 1956 to 1961 and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife from 1990 to 1995. He graduated with a B.A. (Hons.) degree in English Studies. He has worked as a teacher in four secondary schools and in the media as a print production officer. His published works are: Understanding Literature for Schools and Colleges, A Revision Course in English Language, Oral English for Schools and Colleges, Literary Theories and Criticism, The Monster by the Riverside, The grass is green and Adesewa. He is married and has children and grandchildren.
