Sue Miller was born in London and has lived most of her life in the north east of England. She has spent many years as a teacher, psychologist and senior manager developing and delivering services for children and families. She has worked in areas where individuals have experienced the challenging social, economic and environmental changes that local and national governments, as well as communities, have sought to address. As a university lecturer she has written extensively on parenting, childhood, care and education and the complex leadership and learning issues involved in managing and adapting to ever changing circumstances.
