John began his fitness journey when his parents signed him up for gymnastics classes at the age of seven. He competed in gymnastics for five years, eventually moving on to other sports like karate, wrestling, track & field and football. A high school stand-out in football and track, John accepted a Division I Track & Field scholarship to throw the shot put and discus. He enjoyed regional success until his career was sidelined by injuries. Over the years, John continued to fuel his need for new challenges by competing in the highland games, powerlifting, grip sport and even steel bending. He has been weight training now for close to 30 years and knows exactly what it takes to develop the mental and physical strength to be at your best. John is living his passion by helping others along their own journeys to greater strength and personal performance. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the owner of Better Strength & Performance, LLC.
