Patricia Mogavero spent childhood buried in books and playing outdoors, partially as an escape and partially because she grew up in the 80’s. Growing up she came to understand three important beliefs: accepting people for who they are is the only way to love, there is safety in her melancholy, and she can accomplish anything she desires. These three truths weave themselves into her paintings, drawings, short stories and screenplay. Now she writes poetry, reflecting upon pain and hope, growth and healing. Her words speak to her moods more than to her situations. Her poetry unfolds as she relives moments that echo her current feelings. Her topics are not always easy ones to read, but are often the ones readers can relate to most.
