Bretta Staley, M.Ed Bretta Staley is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina. She received her early academic training in the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from Edisto High School. She completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from Claflin University in 1977. She also did further studies at South Carolina State University, Limestone University, and the University of South Carolina in the areas of Art Education, Educational Research, Visual Communications and Computer Science. She received her Masters of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College, with an emphasis in Art. Currently, she is an active artist and author. She has taught in the public schools of Greenville, Florence, Colleton, Calhoun County, and Orangeburg County. She served as Fine Arts Coordinator of the Claflin College Upward Bound Summer Program for several years. She also serves as a visual arts coordinator/teacher for the Orangeburg-Calhoun Consortium for the Arts in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
