Eddie Cruz grew up in the East New York section of Brooklyn and became a police officer at age twenty. By the time he was twenty-six, Cruz was promoted to detective after working undercover in the narcotics division.
His upbringing in an area full of crime, gangs, and drugs helped prepare him for success in undercover work while his time working with the police department taught him about the law.
