Rev. Dr. Patricia Coleman-Burns is a University of Michigan Assistant Professor Emerita of Nursing and Black Studies. She received her BA, MA & PhD in communication studies and rhetorical criticism from Wayne State University. Rev. Pat is a long-time advocate for the right of all persons to be free from gender oppression, sexism, racism, and violence. She is the First Lady & Associated Minister of First African Methodist (FAME) Church in Farmington Hills, MI and is an ordained local elder in the AME church. She coordinates Sankofa, Kwanzaa, Rites of Passage (boys & girls ages 12-17) health commissions and woman ministry programs. She is the Director of Christian Education at FAME. Rev. Dr. Coleman-Burns’ favorite biblical scripture is: "I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message) Currently her favorite songs are: "Break Every Chain!" and "Every Praise" Reverend John Henry Burns II is the Founder and Pastor of First A.M.E. (FAME-FH) Church of Farmington Hills, MI (2015). The planting of FAME-FH is the fulfillment of a longtime vision of Pastor Burns. Appointed in August 2011, Rev. Burns celebrates his 3rd appointment; St. Matthew AME Church, Detroit, MI, 2014-2015; Gregg Memorial AME Church, Lansing MI, 2011-2014; and FAME of Farmington Hills. Rev. John is a native Detroiter, was baptized at the age of 14, accepted his call to ministry in 2001 and was ordained a Local Elder at the Michigan Annual Conference in 2005 to serve at Oak Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church in Detroit. He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools, attended University of Detroit, received his certification and training in mortuary science from Wayne State University and is a second generation licensed funeral director. He is a certified member of "Spiritual Directors International". Pastor John and Dr. Pat are the authors of: Boaz-Kinsman Redeemer: A Time To Break Silence! God’s gifting has prepared their dynamic and anointed ministry for the current church militant. They have two sons: Seve John Burns, who has three daughters, Taiya, Madison and Angela; and Dr. Robert Samuel Burns married to Dr. Jade who have one son, Robert II.
